Buoyancy

The grade 3's and 4's spent the afternoon applying their knowledge of floating and sinking to making boats that were to hold the maximum numbers of pennies.

After the first try, our students went back to the drawing board to see if they could improve their designs.
One boat even held 58 pennies!

These kids sure do know about buoyancy and displacement!

The Best Thing We Did All Summer

The students in the Junior Room, Grades 3 and 4 were asked to share with the class what the best thing they did all summer was. With almost 3 months of vacations behind them they had a lot to choose from! From water slides to sunsets, the students have carefully depicted their favorite time in pastel.
